Description of the UPA USB Programmer: The new UPA-USB is a complete set with all adapters. The main unit can be connected directly to the UPA-USB Serial Programmer from Elrasoft.com or via an optional DB9 male/female 1:1 extension cable. It is equipped with a 40-pin ZIF socket for narrow and wide DIP/DIL devices and also with a 16-pin SOIC ZIF socket (150mil, narrow) to cover the most common devices.

The device setup is done via special configuration keys, making the work convenient and safe compared to manually wiring everything.

Additionally, it includes a 10-pin ISP connector where included ISP adapters can be connected using a 1:1 flat cable (included).

EEPROM Memories:

Connect the motherboard to the UPA programmer directly or using a DB9 male/female extension cable (1:1). Insert the correct configuration key into the motherboard slot and start programming via the ZIF socket or SOIC connector. You can also use the included 10-pin DIL flat header, insert it into the ZIF socket, and connect an SOIC clip or clamps for ISP use from there.

Motorola MCU:

Select the adapter you wish to use, connect the flat cable to the adapter (PIN1 is always indicated on both the cable and the adapter), and also to the 10-pin ISP connector on the motherboard. Select the VCC power source via the jumper on the motherboard next to the ISP connector (ON = target powered by UPA, OFF = target with its own power supply). Slide the adapter over the soldered PLCC MCU on the target PCB. (No soldering, no checking pins, no counting pins, saves a lot of time and hassle, and allows you to work faster, more accurately, and more easily.)
